David Eugene Clifton

David Eugene Clifton, age 63, passed away at his home in Stillwater on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends.

He was born December 11, 1954 in Gadsden, AL, to Walter and Lizzy (Huff) Clifton. He grew up in Attala, AL, and attended Etawa public schools. He married Lisa (Hendrix) Branson in Keller, TX, on July 2, 1985.

David was a hard working, kind, polite guy that was everybody’s friend. His family was very special and important to him. He worked several years at Wal-Mart and other small side jobs during his lifetime. He Also worked for Tri-County Electric in Keller, TX, for 13 years. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Cameron Clifton of Stillwater, OK, Cheyenne Clifton of Lawrence, KS, Laci Branson of Austin, TX, and Matthew Branson of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Ashley Branson and Kirsten Branson both of Fort Worth, TX; four brothers, George Spurling and wife Lisa of Fort Worth, TX, Johnny Clifton and wife Cathy of Attalla, AL, Mike Clifton and wife Jody of Attalla, AL, and Bud Spurling of Attalla, AL; six sisters, Kathy Beard of Georgia, Sara Beard and husband John, of Gadsden, AL, Georgia Presley of Pennsylvania, Lila Patterson of Birmingham, AL, Joyce Spurling and Alice Spurling both of Gadsden, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leonard Clifton and Fred Clifton.
