David Lynn Kienholz was born July 13, 1953, in Perry, Oklahoma. His parents were John W. Kienholz and Etta Jane (Newson) Kienholz. He passed away March 13, 2023.
David grew up on the family farm west of Marland. He attended and graduated from Marland High School in 1971. After graduation he attended Northern Oklahoma College and Oklahoma State University. After leaving college, he worked in Hennessey, Oklahoma at an oilfield Supply Company. After returning to the Marland community, he went to work driving a propane truck for Hamilton Propane in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Later he drove a truck for Troop Propane for many years, retiring in the summer of 2022. Before and after his retirement, he helped his brothers on the farm.
David enjoyed going to cattle sales and visiting with friends. He enjoyed helping with harvest, working cattle, and helping at planting time. He was always ready to put in his 2-cent worth of advice.
He had many friends family that will truly miss him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John W. Kienholz and Etta Jane Kienholz. He is survived by his son Ryan Kienholz and wife Romanjean of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers: Steve Kienholz and wife Denise of Red Rock, Oklahoma, and Larry Kienholz and wife Susan of Tonkawa; and nieces and nephews who knew as ‘crazy uncle Dave’: Nathan Kienholz and wife Kennedy, Noah Kienholz, Jason Kienholz and wife Davi, and Courtney Gurley and husband Steve.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2022 at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. His final resting place will be in McGuire Cemetery.
