Dawn Renee Webb, daughter of Robert R. Haigler and Shirley (Riley) Haigler, was born May 25th, 1964 in Okeene, OK. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 at her home in Stillwater, surrounded by loved ones. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Dawn was raised in Canton, where she attended school and graduated in 1982. She taught piano lessons to many there and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University majoring in music. Dawn loved to play the piano and organ and did so for the Canton Christian Church for many years. She also had the voice of an angel and loved to sing, whether it be at church, for a wedding, or her most favorite- karaoke. There were many times she had to be given a limit of songs she could sign up to sing at various karaoke nights so that others would have a chance on the mic. Music was engrained into her soul. Dawn loved listening to live music from an early age, bringing her three daughters to many concerts as toddlers. She, Shane and her three girls continued their love for live music and concerts together up until her passing.
Dawn was the definition of a free spirit. Her love of peace signs, tie dye, the crescent moon and flying pigs will be fondly remembered by all that knew her. Dawn also loved photography. She took hundreds of photos at any family event or get together, much of the time at the annoyance of all those involved- “Look at me and smile” and “Just one more” were heard many times!
Dawn primarily worked in the area of accounting. She worked at USG in Southard, Cardinal Health in Albuquerque, Flir Systems in Stillwater, various banks throughout Stillwater, and ultimately landed her dream job at Oklahoma State University shortly before her diagnosis. It was at Stillwater National Bank that she answered the phone one day and Shane Webb was on the other line. He needed a promissory note and ended up asking her to go have a beer and a chat that night. That meet up started a love story for the ages. Dawn and Shane were each other’s person. Everyone who knew them could see that. They rarely went anywhere without each other. They enjoyed riding their Harley, listening to red dirt music and going to Eureka Springs, AR, ultimately marrying there on December 31st, 2009. Eureka Springs was truly her happy place. She fit in perfectly there and made many longtime friends on their frequent trips throughout the years.
