Dennis Henry Patz

Dennis Henry Patz was born on December 5th, 1942 to Julius and Mary Margaret (Soitz) Patz in Berwyn, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Franz on June 8th, 1968 in DeKalb, Illinois.
Dennis held a Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas and had been employed as an Accounting Professor at OSU for the past 20 years. He had previously taught at the University of Glasgow and the University of Stirling in Scotland, the University of Illinois and the University of Florida. He also spent time as an external examiner at the University of Zimbabwe. When he was not busy working, Dennis enjoyed sailing and traveling. He had traveled all around the world and to most every continent. He also enjoyed spending time fly fishing and cherished time spent with his family.
Dennis passed away on Monday October 30th, 2006 at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 63 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of the home; one son, Mark Patz and Eileen Kenney of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Katherine Patz; niece, Lettishia Kerns; great niece, Samantha Kerns; other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17th at 4:00 p.m. at the Bennett Chapel on the campus of OSU. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Judith Karman Hospice or to Doctors Without Borders. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
