Funeral services for Dennis Lee Brown, 58, of Stillwater are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater with Mr. Edsel Hall officiating. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Mr. Brown was born on August 1, 1950 in Hays, KS to Robert Lee Brown, Jr. and Pauline (Savage) Brown. He attended schools in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and college at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock and the State College of Arkansas. Dennis married Song Soon Bae in Seoul, South Korea on September 28, 1985 while serving in South Korea. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1970. He transferred to the United States Air Force in 1974 where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Following his retirement, he did contract work in the electronics division for the United States Army on military bases.
During Dennis life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and music including country, classical and southern Gospel. He was an avid early Sunday morning radio gospel music fan. He tuned in and reminded other family members to listen on their way to church. He was a great family man and showed much love and pride in his family. He was a lover of country living and always enjoyed the peaceful, serene sounds while sitting outside in the evenings. Dennis passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Brown; one niece, Melanie Brown; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Song Brown of Stillwater; one daughter Aimee Marie Brown of Stillwater; one son, Kyle David Brown of Stillwater; mother, Pauline Brown Hall and step-father, Edsel of Stillwater; one brother, Bob Brown and his wife Teresa of Stillwater; six nephews, Matthew Brown and his wife Jackie, of Pflugerville, TX, Rockford Moses Brown and his wife, Angela of Stillwater, Sung Jae, Sung Whun, Jung Hun, and Chung Hun all of Seoul, South Korea; five aunts, Ruby Simpson of Stillwater, Jean Brown of Sapulpa, OK, Dean Brown of Edmond, OK, and Juanita Ciaccia of Cypress, CA; two uncles, Jess Brown of Olustee, OK and Jim Delafield of Riverside, CA; great nieces Rachel Brown and Morgan Baker of Stillwater and Elyssa Williford of Pflugerville, TX; mother-in-law, Joo Sun of Seoul, South Korea; sister-in-law, Eun Soon Bae and her husband, Mung Ku Kim of Seoul, South Korea; and brother-in-law, Gap Bae of Ulsan, South Korea.
