Dickie Waye of Emory, TX passed away Monday December 21, 2015 at the age of 66. Funeral Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating his life will be held at Palmer Marler Funeral Chapel in Stillwater, Ok on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Round Grove Cemetery near Ponca City.
Dickie was the son of Sherman L. and Mary Ellen Waye. Dickie was born October 23, 1949 in Breeze Illinois. He grew up in the Ponca City area and graduated from Po-High in 1967. While in high school, Dickie discovered his love for music while participating in both band and choir. He attended NOC and received an associates degree in engineering and electronics. Dickie served as the music director at Ranch Drive Baptist Church, where he married Mary Griffith 47 years ago on November 16, 1968. He retired from Conoco Pipeline as a Mechanic Foreman, after 40 years of service.
His hobbies included fishing, being a handy man, wood working, babysitting grandkids, and watching football.
Dickie is survived by his wife Mary Waye and his four children. Tammy Barns, Irving TX, Jusalena and husband Kenny Madison, Wichita Falls, TX., Katie Thomas, East Tawakoni, TX., Clinton and wife Kelly Waye of Wichita Falls, TX. Six grandchildren: McKalyln Madison, Dante Madison, Jenavie Madison, Zackary Waye, and Leah Waye. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dickie was preceded in death by both his parents.
