Don Lynn Boyd

Don L. Boyd, 78, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 1:00pm at Pleasant Valley Sumner Cemetery. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Don was born on August 2, 1945, in Tipton, Oklahoma to J.W. and Ira (Neal) Boyd. He grew up in Tipton, Oklahoma and joined the United States Army National Guard and obtained the rank of E6. He married Sharon Gutowski on June 3, 1966, at the First Christian Church in Perry.

Don was a deacon at the church, he was on the Sumner school board. He worked for Bon Ray Oil company for five years and then worked for Ditch Witch for many years. Don’s greatest legacy was his family. Family was everything to him. Don was very proficient in making yard ornaments out of metal around the holidays, such as Christmas trees, pumpkins, snowmen.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his brothers, Bill Boyd and J.C. Boyd and sister Wanda Stillson.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children, Craig Boyd and his wife Lesa, Lisa Harman and her husband Mark, Coby Boyd and his wife Meliah and Dusty Boyd and his wife Alisa, and thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Bonnie Hefner, Carol Spillard and Joy Holcomb.

Pallbearers will be Craig Boyd, Dusty Boyd, Coby Boyd, Wyatt Boyd, Tyler Adams, and Lane Harman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Karcher, Travis Richarson, Jeff Richardson, and Mark Haman.
