Doris Ruth (Fagan) Reynolds was born December 16, 1930 to Phillip Roy Fagan Sr. and Artha Marie (Hearring) Fagan. The good Lord called her home March 24, 2014 at the age of 83 years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10:00am at The Christian Church of Perkins. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted in the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins.
Doris was united in marriage to Billy Joe Reynolds on August 12, 1951 in Guthrie, OK and was blessed with three daughters, Patricia, Billie Sue and Marsha.
Doris was an accomplished seamstress and was talented in crafts and porcelain doll making. She created many items for her children, grandchildren, family members and friends. She also was an excellent cook and made the best Apple Butter which was enjoyed by many. She was an active member of the Extension Homemaker Club.
Doris still had time for a fulltime career; she was outstanding in sales working at Safeway and Homeland where she was promoted from cashier to produce manager and for a short time store manager in Tulsa, OK. After retiring from Homeland, she went to work at Hobby Lobby and enjoyed working part time for her brother Dennis in his business Hydro Foam Technology.
Doris and her husband belonged and enjoyed Country Roads Good Sams Travel Club. Doris enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing with the Good Sams and her family. Many a game of dominos was played at get-togethers and family reunions.
Survivors include her three daughters, Patricia Ann Platt and Stephen W. Platt, Billie Sue Taylor, and Marsha Diann Harris and her husband, Gregory; four grandchildren, Dustin James Platt and his wife, Jennifer, Stephanie Marie Platt, Chelsea Rae (Harris) Smith and her husband, Travis, and Chad Roy Harris; three great-grandchildren, Daxton Joseph Platt, Jasmine Laine Platt, and Ella Grace Harris; one sister, Darlouise Woody; two brothers, Phillip Roy Fagan, Jr. and wife, Dorothy and Marion Dennis Fagan; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Reynolds on September 14, 2002; one brother, Bobby Gene Fagan; and one son-in-law, MSgt. James H. Taylor.
