Dorothy Lee Spyres

Dorothy Lee Spyres, age 77 of Stillwater formerly of Yale went to her new home in Heaven, Thursday morning, April 30, 2009 at her home. Her funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma with Pastor Mich Dershem officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Yale, Oklahoma. Visitation for Mrs. Spyres will be held from 11 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater and from 1 p.m. Sunday until 6 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale, Oklahoma.
Dorothy was born on August 10, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Martin and Martha (Sentell) Anderson. She came to Oklahoma in 1950 settling in Carnegie, moved to Stockton, California in 1953, moving to Enid in 1960, to Yale in 1966 and to Stillwater 23 years ago. She worked as a Physical Plant Foreman at the Oklahoma State University in Stillwater retiring in 2000. She also worked for Singer in Enid, Oklahoma. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma and the Rebekah Lodge in California. She enjoyed reading and her family.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Philip Ingram of Morrison and David Herring of Stillwater; two daughters, Kathy Tinnie and husband Leroy of Cushing and Sandra Troxtell of Pueblo, Colorado; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Michael Herring, and daughter, Karen Rich and by granddaughters, Shelley and Janie.
