Dorothy Louise Tippett

Dorothy Louise Mukes Tippett, 82, of Cushing, Oklahoma was born on February 7, 1939 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Tom Alexander Mukes and Emma Lee Maxwell. She passed away on July 23, 2021 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Dorothy had 8 children, 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy worked as a nurse with Dr. Cook in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She also worked in construction and helped build GMC in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was also the cook in Cushing, Oklahoma at Early Bird Headstart. Her hobbies included cooking, fishing, traveling and as we all know, she loved BINGO and raising her grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by Emma Lee Maxwell, (mother) and Tom Mukes (father) Nancy Tippett (dasugther), Vernest Mukes (son), Theophelous Martin (son), Kueben Harrison (son), Kelvin Lane (grandson), Donald Mishion (grandson), Kanisha Brown (granddaughter), Kelarra Lane (granddaughter), and Mary Morgan (sister).
She is survived by Pauline Hall (daughter), Christine Lacey (daughter), Emma Williams (daughter), Edgar Lane (son), Viola Brannon (sister), Ruby Martin (sister), Vera Martin (sister), Clyde Martin (brother), Jeff Martin (brother) and Gene Martin (brother). She has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Cushing with burial following at Silver Star Cemetery, in Cushing. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 5, 2021 until 8:00 PM at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
