Dr. Diomede Buzingo was born on November 17, 1956 in Murunga, Burundi, Africa to Damien Ndabirinde and Immaculee Sindayigwanya. Diomede was the second of eleven children.
Diomede married his beloved wife, Beatrice Niyonzima, on November 30, 1991 in Bujumbura, Burundi. Soon after their marriage, the happy couple welcomed their beautiful daughters. Debra Irankunda on April 6, 1992 in Bujumbura, Burundi and Delaine Irakoze on November 17, 1996 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Diomede studied and received his B.S. Degree in Bucharest, Romania; Master's Degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, and his Ph.D at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. He began his tenure with Langston University in 2005. Diomede had just completed the last term and was doing research for the United States Department of Agriculture, or USDA for short, in Stillwater. He had also previously worked for the Institution of Research in Burundi.
Dr. Buzingo was very respected in his fields of study. He was known to be of high moral character and integrity. Diomede was a spiritual man who would do anything for his family.
Diomede was fluent in five languages, including English, French, Kirundi, Romanian, and Swahili. He enjoyed playing basketball, loved people, and his work. He felt that his greatest love and accomplishment were his daughters.
Diomede is survived by his wife, Beatrice Niyonzima; his two daughters, Debra and Delaine Buzingo; his brothers, Leonce of Belgium, Ferdinand of Canada, and Donatien of South Korea; his sisters, Ida, Beatrice, and Joselyne of Burundi, as well as their families, and by many other beloved relatives and friends all over the world.
