Dwayne Ray Wilson

December 16, 1928 — June 19, 2006

Dwayne R. Wilson, 77, of Stillwater, passed from this life in his home on Monday, June 19th, 2006. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday June 21st, 2006 at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home in Stillwater. Church of Christ Elder, Kent Houck will be officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at the Sentinel Cemetery in Sentinel, Oklahoma with Pastor James Cudd officiating.
He was born at home on the family farm in Sentinel on December 16th, 1928 to Carl and Jennie Mae (Edmonds) Wilson. He married Mary Louise Reiter on November 30th, 1952 in Sentinel, Oklahoma.
He attended school in Port and Sentinel. After graduating from Sentinel High School, he served with the 45th Infantry in the Korean War. He and Mary lived in Stillwater for a few years while he attended Oklahoma A & M (now OSU). He worked for the A & M Police Department and was the first motorcycle officer in the late 1950s.
The family lived in Memphis, TN and Arlington, TX before returning to Stillwater in 1963. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1965 with a Business Degree and became the administrative assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering at OSU.
He was a licensed Real Estate Agent, Broker, and GRI. He taught numerous Real Estate Agent and Broker courses for more than 30 years in Stillwater, Edmond and Oklahoma City Vo-Tech Schools. During that time, he assisted in the development of the Oklahoma Real Estate Law and Curriculum. He owned Stillwater Realty Unlimited and operated it with his son-in-law until his retirement.
He was the President of the Stillwater Board of Realtors and had been a member of the Stillwater Apartment Association, The Stillwater Noon Lions, Kiwanis, Elks, Masons, The Republican Party and The Church of Christ.
He enjoyed working with his sheep, driving his tractor and spending time with his grandchildren. He spent countless hours giving them tractor rides. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and Grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jennie Mae Wilson and his sister-in-law, Dee Wilson of Sentinel. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; two sons, Mark Wilson and Scott Wilson of Stillwater; Granddaughter, Allie Perez and husband Chencho and great-granddaughter Carmalita of Tulsa, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kenny Hallman of Stillwater; Grandson, Jacob Hallman and wife Amber, great granddaughter Olivia and grandson Kelin Hallman and finance Megan of Stillwater; Brothers, Richard Wilson of Sentinel, Mac Wilson and wife Martha of Irving, TX; sister Carolyn Smith and husband Joe of Clinton, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Pall Bearers will be Scott Wilson, Kenny Hallman, Jacob Hallman, Kelin Hallman, Scott Moore and Terry McDougal Young.
