Earl Wayne Yunker was born on March 26, 1963 in Enid, OK to Willard and Ethel (Ross) Yunker. He was raised and attended schools in Garfield County, graduating from Chisholm High School in 1982. Following his graduation, Wayne attended Okmulgee Technical School where he attained an Associate"s Degree in Heating and Air Technology. In the late 1980"s he moved to Raleigh-Durham, NC where he opened his own heating and air company. Soon after, Wayne met and married Roseanna Lanza and had a son, Louis Yunker. Wayne relocated to Salt Lake City, UT for several years before returning to Perry to be near his family. Wayne was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of leukemia in 2001. 95% of people diagnosed with this disease pass away within a few short years, but not Wayne, he was a fighter. He courageously fought this disease for nearly 14 years, but he rarely complained. Wayne"s will to live can be attributed to his faith and his desire to watch his son Louis, become a young man. Faith was an important part of his life and he was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Wayne was an easy going and laid back man with quite an ornery streak. He enjoyed playing his guitar, working on cars, talking about motors with Louis and socializing with his friends. Wayne was almost always happy and had a very positive attitude. He loved to make others laugh and nothing made him smile more than being together with his son. Wayne touched many lives in his short 51 years and he will truly be missed by all who knew him. Wayne Yunker was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ethel Yunker and a brother Johnny Dean Yunker. He is survived by his son Louis of Salt Lake City, UT. Four siblings: Richard Yunker of Guthrie, Don Yunker and wife Cindy, of Billings, Roger Yunker and wife Patty, of Chapel Hill, NC and Karen Yunker of Perry. The mother of his son: Roseanna Yunker and various other nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family requests that donations be made in Wayne"s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home 203 Fir Street.
