Edna Delories Tabor, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Stillwater on Monday, January 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Edna was born February 5, 1936 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Charlie and Charlotte (Burton) Sharpton. She grew up in the Stillwater/Perkins area where she attended school and remained throughout her adult life. Growing up she was known by her five siblings as “Sis”. She married Edward Lee Tabor on September 15, 1952 in Stillwater. Together they raised their three children on the family farm southwest of Stillwater. She was a homemaker at heart. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, spending time with her family, and making her house a home full of love. In her younger years she attended Christian Missionary Alliance Bible Church and then later attended Crosspoint Baptist Church, both in Stillwater.
Survivors include her three children, Robert Tabor, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Gwen Harris and husband Jim of Emporia, Kansas, and Shirley Sneed and husband David of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Judy Buntin and husband Gib of Stillwater, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Robert Tabor, Jr., Brandi Tabor, Alicia Tabor, Theresa Tabor, Melissa Williams, Chris Harris, Angela Custar, and Trey Sneed; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and four siblings, Dale Sharpton, Wesley Sharpton, Aleen Handy, and Georgie Sharpton.
Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9AM to 8PM at the funeral home. A Celebration of Edna’s life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Richmond officiating. Pallbearers will be Trey Sneed, Robert Tabor, Bobby Williams, Chris Harris, David Sneed and Hunter Williams. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Stillwater.
