Edward Allen Robertson, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away early Monday morning, September 13, 2010 in his home at the age of 74 years.
Graveside services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the Carney Cemetery, Carney, OK.
The son of the late Troy Allen Robertson and Amanda Pauline (Drake) Robertson, Edward was born on December 3, 1935 in Yale, Oklahoma. He was reared and educated in the Cushing area. Edward had lived in Coffeyville, KS while working for the Coffeyville Flour Mill and also for Haliburton.
He was united in marriage to Coeta Stephens on June 6, 1987 in Morrison, OK where they made their home. Edward was employed by MerCruiser in Stillwater where he worked in receiving before retiring in the early 1990s. While employed with MerCruiser, Edward and Coeta moved to Perkins and eventually to Cushing.
Edward had recently become a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but his passion was anything to do with the University of Oklahoma and he was always willing to share his passion with a non-Sooner fan. If he wasnt watching the Sooners, then he was usually at Lone Chimney Lake, enjoying his other passion, Fishing.
Survivors include his wife Coeta of the home; three daughters, Tracey Lockaby and her husband Mark of Coffeyville, KS, Stacy Isca and her husband Billy of Valdez, AK, and Kim Hughes and her husband Don of Carney, OK; four sons, Ricky Robertson and his wife Rebecca of Cushing, and Mike Robertson, David Robertson, and Terry Robertson, all of Texas; two brothers, Raymond Robertson and his wife Sherry of Arkansas City, KS and Ronnie Robertson of Stillwater; two sisters, Kathrine Grimm and her husband Raymond of Tryon, OK and Maxine Thompson of Cushing; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, one son, Edward Allen Robertson Jr., two sisters, Evelyn and Vivian, and one brother, Robert Eugene preceded Edward in death.
