Edward "Chuck" Short

Edward “Chuck” Short passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was 88. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Visitation will be 9AM to 8PM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. Funeral services will be 2PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home with J. B. Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Chuck was born July 30, 1932 in Bozman, Montana to John and Ida (Fuller) Short. He graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School. After high school he attended a technical school where he obtained a electrician degree and worked as a Residential Electrician until retirement.

Chuck enjoyed fishing and hunting, music, and playing video games. One of his favorites was Nascar Thunder that he enjoyed playing until the past few months when his health failed him. One of Chuck’s passions was being an evangelist and sharing the teaching of Jesus Christ. He was an avid reader as well and was sometimes referred to as a walking dictionary. Chuck had a great sense of humor. Always seizing the opportunity to pull a prank on someone.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Benton of Thomasville, NC., Bradley Short and wife Sharon of Coyle, OK., Brock Short and wife Melissa of Kalispell, MT., and Karen Weimorts and husband Adam of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Short, Matthew Short, Allison Stolz, Sarah Carver, Seth Carver, Megan Weimorts, Veronica Cole and husband Kevin, Michelle Lassiter and husband John, Emily Short, Kambre Short, Khloe Short, Jessica Melton, Michael Benton, Daniel Benton and wife Erica, and Catherine Gaines; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryon Short; three sisters, Helen Chriske, Gladys Johnson, and Jean Harmon; one brother, Jack Short.
