Edward Frank Paxton was born to Charles and Dora (Mulford) Paxton on December 1, 1920 in Glencoe. He had 2 siblings (Helen King and Ralph Paxton). He grew up in the Glencoe area. He joined the Army and served during World War II (stationed in the Philippines). He later married Mary Elizabeth (Mitchell) Paxton on April 5, 1947. They had 4 children (Janice, Frank, Lisa and John).
Integrity: this is the quality that Ed not only held in high esteem but practiced every day during his time on this earth. He was a serious and disciplined man, but he could never resist the opportunity to have a laugh with friends and loved ones, given half the chance.
After retiring from the Service, he moved his family to Meramec and enjoyed farming. After John was married and gone. Mary informed him they were moving to Glencoe since he spent most of his days there playing dominoes anyway.
They spent their last years together in Glencoe and saw family as often as they could.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife (Mary) and son (Frank).
He is survived by his children: Janice and Herb Critchfield of Geary, Kay Paxton of Ripley, Lisa and Jim Watson of Tulsa and John and Terri Paxton of Bixby.
Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Chris and Kevin, Angela, Richard, Mandy and Michael, Beth and Curtis, Robert, Michael, Charles and Tiffany, Johnny and Tyler, Andrew, Katie and Tyler.
And his 11 and 2 halves wonderful great-grandchildren, Owen, Charley, Ethan, Nathan, Alexis, Carson, Jennifer, Miranda, Layla, Quade, Cora, and two more on the way, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ed had many wonderful stories about his years of service, farming and fatherhood. In each story you can hear the love he had for the people around him. He kept up with all the family he had left; some more than others, but he enjoyed hearing from each one. Talking to family and friends was the highlight of his days and getting a visit would put him on cloud nine.
