Edward T. Hackett passed from this life on November 3, 2016 in Stillwater, OK. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating his life will be held in Delores, CO at a later date.
Edward was born on Oct 12, 1935 in Humboldt, NV to John and Mary (Reynolds) Hackett. He was raised in Delores and Cortez, Colorado. He became a licensed plumber at the age of 16 and worked in several of areas of the SW USA. In 1958 he joined the US Army where he served for a year in Korea as a medic. He returned stateside and continued working as a plumber. Edward relocated to Oklahoma in 1973 and in 2008 he moved to Del City, OK to be closer to his family. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, panning for gold, gardening and he was a member of the Tulsa Moose Lodge. Edward Hackett was a loving father, a proud grandpa, and a loyal friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia Hackett, six brothers: Wayne, Larry, Harvey, John, George, and Freddie. Two daughters: Laura Hackett and Holly Rolen.
He is survived by a daughter Heather Wood and husband Darin of Perry, OK. Six sisters: Doris, Louise, Olive, Hilda, Alta, and Myra. Three grandchildren: Joshua Rolen, Frank Rolen, and Halei Rolen. He is also survived by one great grand daughter, Courtneigh as well as numerous friends and acquaintance and he will be missed by those who knew him.
