Ella Josephine Lawson

Funeral services for Jo Lawson, 81, of Edmond are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Quail Springs Baptist Church (14613 N. May OKC) with her son-in-law, Gary Davenport officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Jo was born January 14, 1929 in San Augustine, TX to Eric Philemon Greer and Madie Arce (Bierhalter) Greer. She attended schools in TX, KS, and AZ, graduating high school in Winslow, AZ. She attended Grand Canyon College in AZ, where she met her future husband. Jo married Glenn D. Lawson November 22, 1951 at First Baptist Church in Winslow, AZ. She spent her life as a homemaker and pastors wife as Glenn ministered to churches in AZ, OK, and KS. Glenn preceded her in death on December 3, 2003. Her hobbies included playing the piano, singing, and camping, especially when they would travel to the mountains. She loved her children and grandchildren. Jo passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Justin, TX.
In addition to her husband Glenn, Jo was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Jo is survived by her children, Kathy Shipley, Jeff Lawson and wife, Nancy, and Ginny Davenport and husband, Gary; nine grandchildren; one sister; three brothers; and a host of other family members and friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Jos name to the Quail Springs Baptist Church Missions Fund.
