Graveside services for Ella McCullough, 87, of Stillwater are to be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 12:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, October 7 from 8:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Ella was born on December 18, 1921 in Stillwater, OK to Avery and Myrtle (Crispin) Wheatley. She grew up and attended schools in Stillwater, where she graduated from high school. She worked for Southwestern Bell for more than 30 years. Ella married Raymond McCullough on April 12, 1967 in Enid, OK. She attended Bible Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing and painting. Once her projects were completed, she gave them away to her family and friends, never asking for money in return. She loved her dogs. Ella passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 in Stillwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Floyd, Earl, and Virgil Wheatley.
Ella is survived by her husband, Raymond of the home; one stepdaughter, Sue Galloway and husband Joe of Coyle; two step grandchildren, Melissa Galloway of Coyle and Dennis Galloway of KS; seven step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Wheatley and wife, Loretta Jean of Stillwater and Fred Wheatley and wife, Charlene of Morrison; and many nephews, nieces and other family member and friends.
