Jake Prince passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his home in Mulhall, Oklahoma just a couple weeks after returning from a vacation with his family in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 71. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Jake was born May 21, 1948 in Billings, Oklahoma to Herbert W. and Opal May (Kilgore) Prince. At the age of 19 Jake joined the Navy and honorably served his country for two years on the U.S.S. Oriskany. After discharge from the active service he joined the Naval reserves where he served for another four years. On February 22, 1971 Jake married Glenda Myers in Kansas. They moved to Mulhall in 1975 where he resided until his death. He worked for Lambert construction in Stillwater for many years and retired from there in 2013.
He enjoyed gardening, riding his Harley, fishing, and watching westerns, especially John Wayne westerns. One of his greatest enjoyments was having his entire family and extended family at his home for a family reunion every year visiting and sharing stories.
Survivors include his daughter, Christina Neece of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sons, Rusty Prince and wife Vanessa of Mulhall, Oklahoma, and Brian Prince and wife Lisa of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Shirley Anthony of Mulhall, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Noah, Colt, Anthony, Justina, Isabella, and Gavin; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Amariana, Easton, and Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda in 2012; 8 brothers, Herbert, Tom, Jackie, Jim, Warren, Art, Bud, and Billy Joe; two sisters, Edith, and Lola.
