Eric John Cameron was born on March 10, 1976, and was peacefully escorted by His Lord Jesus to his eternal home March 23, 2022.
Eric and his wife Connie, the love of his life, met when both were 11 years old in gym class. By 12 Eric had already declared his love. The next few years Eric traveled with family to many states, but Connie and he kept accidentally running into each other. They finished High School in the same city. More connected than even they knew. When they went to get copies of their birth certificates for the marriage license. They discovered they were born in the same hospital, with the same doctor, 2 weeks apart. June 2000, they shared their vows with a minister in Nebraska before having a wedding ceremony on a cruise ship out of Los Angeles. The next month they were moving to Oklahoma to begin their adventures and journeys together.
Eric had a lifelong passion for knowledge and truth. His detailed memory of all dates and events made it easy to see how time and history connect. Throughout his life he attended Western Iowa Tech, University of South Dakota, Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma University. His studies were focused on prelaw and art.
Jesus was Eric’s moral compass. Eric would often say, “He knows my heart!” He had a great burden for lost souls and wanted them to know Jesus.
His love for his 3 sons was demonstrated in all ways from the verbal, “I love you” to the patient teacher as they each learned a new skill. Eric and Connie recognized the power of a name, spending many hours finding the perfect names for their boys. Alexavier John Cameron 18, name means defender and helper of mankind, Lord, Savior. Vincent Valen Cameron 15, name means victorious conqueror, strong, healthy. Enzo Maximus Cameron 12, name means ruler of the house, greatest. The motto for the name Cameron from English history is
"Aonaibh ri cheile" (Unite). Eric’s heart was for their small “Clan Cameron” to unite in love. They spent many family vacations enjoying the beach and Galveston, California, Florida, and other vacation spots.
The family describes Eric as; loving, energetic, fun, brilliant, creative, caring, amazing imagination, hardworking, didn’t sit still, and was always trying to fulfill all the family’s needs or wants.
Eric was a genius level multi-dimensional creative artist. Expressing amazing designs, ability, and aptitude in many mediums. Drawing, painting, oil, watercolors, clay, construction, wood, paint, metal, metal fab, building engines and music. Winning awards from 8 years old through adulthood. He took a car to Sema, a highly prestigious honor and won multiple awards from the Darryl Starbird shows. He loved playing his guitar, writing songs, and singing. This love he gave to his sons and created each of them their own guitars.
