Erlene G. Lowery

Erlene Downey Lowery was born February14, 1936 in Jean, TX to Hughie Carrick and Loretha Crabb Downey. She passed from this life on August 30, 2024 in Pawnee, OK.

Erlene attended school in Graham, TX. After graduating, she married Bob Joe Lowery in 1954 who affectionately called her “Ear” for many years. They had two 2 sons together Billy Hugh and Joe Scott. The family moved to Guthrie, OK in 1965. In 1977 they built and managed Logan County Feeders in Meridian, OK where they lived until 1982. After moving to Payne County, Erlene worked in various offices handling bookkeeping and providing accounting services. She enjoyed spending time bowling in Stillwater leagues at Frontier Lanes, watching her OSU Cowboys attending rodeos, and loving on her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years; her parents; and her siblings, Hollis, Estalene, and Margaret.

She is survived by their sons Billy Hugh, and wife Debra of Stillwater, OK, and Joe Scott and wife Denise of Chandler, OK. Her grandchildren, Brandon McAdams (Katie), Brandi Graves (Lance), Cody Lowery (Crystal), Eric Lowery (Zack), Ashley Winblad (Cole), Stacey Harkins (Dusty), Bobby Joe “B.J.” Lowery (Lauren), Justin Lowery (Kati), and Nathan Lowery (Alicia). Her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Clay, Maddi (Devin), Jacob, Cagle, Silvia, Oliver, Eli, Abe, Landon, Logan, Leo, Kimber, Tinley, and Kaci.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2PM to 6PM with family greeting guests from 5PM to 6PM.  A Celebration of Erlene's life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.  Interment will follow at Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, OK.
