Esther Louise (Rink) Vanhooser, life-long resident of Sumner, died August 26, 2022, at her home.
She was born January 30, 1943, at Sumner, the daughter of Otto Emil Rink and Josephine Schultz Rink. She attended Sumner School from which she graduated in 1960.
Esther was a lifelong farmer and loved gardening, making pecan pies with pecans from her pecan grove, planted by her dad, Otto; her cats, all animals, bird watching and feeding the birds. She lived her entire life on her home place and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed raising all varieties of chickens. Her passions were family and farming.
She was the mother of one son, Brian Kirkes.
Survivors include her son Brian Kirkes and his significant other Debra Krenz, Oklahoma City; nephews: Larry Rink, Randy Rink, Gary Rink and Dale Rink; grandchildren: Jesse Overy and wife Tara, Mandy Allen, grand nephew: Cory Rink, Skylar Rink, Evan Rink, grand niece: Christin Rink- Dry, Bailey Rink Dilbeck, Great grandchildren: Kelsey Allen, Kacey Allen, Akiria Allen, Latisha Overy and Shaylee Jenkins; great grand nephews: John Rink, Jackson Rink, Henry Rink, Jase Dilbeck, Waylon Dilbeck, great grand niece: Charlotte Rink, Donnie Rink, Tsali Dry, sisters-in-law: Wanda Rink and Christina Rink.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Josephine Rink; two brothers: William Rink and John Rink; and a nephew, Chris Rink.
