Ethel Deloris Heppler, 82, a lifelong resident of Perry, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Stillwater Medical Center-Perry.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Perry. A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, also in the chapel of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home.
Ethel was born August 11, 1939 in Perry, the daughter of Floyd Bower and Marguerite (Fletcher) Bower. She grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School and was employed as a bookkeeper in the medical field. She married Alphonse Heppler on April 12, 1958 in Perry. He passed away November 30, 2012.
Ethel loved mowing her lawn on her riding lawnmower and raising flowers. She also liked sewing, attending the kids’ baseball games and being with family. She was a member of the Catholic church.
She is survived by one daughter, Alphreda Layton and her husband Kenny, and one son, Anthony (Tony) Heppler, all of Perry; one brother, Jack Bower, Grove, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Josh Layton, Leigha Layton, Katlin Layton and C.J. Layton; one bonus grandchild, Earnest Standokes; and five great-grandchildren: Breania Chambers, Kaidyn Standokes, Graesyn Standokes, Alena Layton and Arianna Sherwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Bob Bower, and one sister Betty Daily.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ethel’s name to the Perry 10-and-under baseball program, in care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, PO Box 189, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
