Etta Louise (Werner) Scott

November 2, 1940 — February 1, 2025

Etta Scott passed away at her home the morning of February 1, 2025, surrounded by her family. At a later date, a gathering for friends and family to celebrate her life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Lucien Community building.

Etta was born November 2, 1940, in Lucien, Oklahoma to George and Grace (Goevelinger) Werner. She grew up in the Lucien/Orlando area and graduated in 1958 from Orlando High School.

July 30, 1957, Etta married Verlin Lee Stanley, at Methodist Church in Perry, Oklahoma, with whom she had three children: Ronnie, LeEtta, and LaRhonda.

In 1982, she married William (Billy Bob) Scott, and they moved to the country outside of Perry, Oklahoma. Etta worked for TG&Y a number of years, then Dresser Atlas from which she retired.

Etta loved Elephants which was evident walking into each room in her house. Scrapbooking became one of her favorite hobbies. She loved teaching herself different techniques and later, using a cricket, created many items for family and friends. Etta had a strong love for Christ and was active in Seventh Day Adventist churches in Perry and Stillwater. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed big family gatherings especially during the holidays. All the grandkids loved “Grammie’s rolls,” also known as plain wheat rolls, so they were made for most get togethers.

Etta is survived by her children: Terry Ronald Stanley of Covington, Oklahoma, LeEtta (Mike) Tilson of Milford, Kansas, and LaRhonda Elliott of Perry, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Cassie Dale, Santana (Jeremy) Keller and Donovan Elliott, all of Perry; eight great grandchildren: Victoria Akers of Kansas, Braxton, Braylee, and Brystol Dale of Perry, Serenity and Kaden Beier of Perry, Paizley and Adler Elliott of Cushing; three great-great grandchildren: Tyler, Kinsley, and Aubrey Akers of Kansas; one Sister: Shirley (Don) Jones of Perry; niece’s: Shelley (Tom) Mack, Tena (Tommy) Kitchens of Perry, Lindy (Paul) King of Gleen Hights, Texas; and multiple cousins as well as great nieces and nephews.

Etta was preceded in death by her late husband Billy Bob Scott; parents: George and Grace Werner; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Glenna Werner.

Dighton-Marler Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Stillwater, Oklahoma, in care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, P. O. Box 189, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
