Evelyn Marie Crenshaw

Evelyn Marie Crenshaw, 69, of Coyle, passed into the arms of her Lord on January 9, 2013 at her home. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Visitation will be held from 8 AM to 8 PM on Friday and Saturday and 1 PM to 6 PM on Sunday. Services will be held on Monday January 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Friends Chapel Church (Redlands road mile south of Highway 33) with Pastor Merle Kinzer officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Evelyn was born on August 14, 1943 to Virgil and Dorthey Longan in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She grew up around the Coyle area where she graduated from high school in 1961. A month later she married her high school sweetheart Gary Crenshaw on September 22, 1961 at the Friends Chapel Church. There marriage lasted 51 years until her passing. Evelyn loved to garage sale and that is where you could find her on Saturdays. She would argue over a nickel. She was an avid birdwatcher, particularly of hummingbirds, redbirds, but was not too fond of bluejays. She loved her yorkies. Her hair shop was decorated in road runners. She always had a great story about the woodpecker, and everytime she told the story the bird got larger. By her final telling the woodpecker was over 5 foot tall. She loved glassware. However, the light of her life was spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Gary of the home; daughter Sherrie Brown of Coyle; son Jay Crenshaw and wife Leslie of Coyle; siblings Kathryn Bostian of Texoma, J.D. Longan and wife Loretta of Sumner, and Carolyn Sullins of Perkins; grandkids Bri Curry, Jacob Crenshaw, Morgan Brown, and Abigail Crenshaw; and great grandkid Riley Curry, as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Longan.
