Everett Douglas (Doug) Brashers, a man who was passionate about his country and served his country with honor, joy and no regret, left the world and family he loved to be with his creator. With loving family present, he passed away from a stroke on January 7th. Born April 28, 1941, in Tulsa Oklahoma, he was 80 years old. Services have been entrusted to Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Doug was born on April 28, 1941 to Robert Epp and Veda Newton Brashers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He joined the Air Force and after retiring he completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Tulsa. He then worked with Southwestern Bell until his second retirement. He married the love of his life, Beverly on November 19, 1988.
Doug’s passions included loving his beautiful wife of 34 years, avidly reading, enjoying classic cars, tinkering on computers and being with his friends and family. He had a warm and funny personality with an infectious laugh and smile.
Doug is survived by his wife of the home and two sons Tony Brashers, Brian Mason, brother Russell Mason of Tulsa; and numerous grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two children, Douglas Jr. and Tina Brashers.
Funeral service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, January 14th at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N Washington Street, Stillwater, OK 74075 and the burial service will be at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 1423 Cemetery Road, Fort Gibson, OK 74434.
