Ewel Douglas Haskins

Ewel Douglas Possum Haskins was born on July 27th, 1956 to Ewel D. and Wanda Lee (Neighbors) Haskins in Ada, Oklahoma. Ewel graduated high school from Cushing High School in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Ewel was self-employed as a concrete finisher in the construction business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding mules and playing with his grandchildren. He loved reading his Bible and his favorite song was Amazing Grace. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of them. His fondest memory was the birth of his children and he had a special space in his heart for his grandchildren.
Ewel passed away on November 6th, 2006 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 50 years old. He is survived by his parents, Ewel and Wanda Haskins; one daughter, Brandi Lee Haskins; one son, Mark Douglas Haskins and girlfriend Lourfond Slayton; two sisters, Deborah Lynn Barrett and husband Bill, Diana Lee Spiva and husband Glen; three grandchildren, Jashon, Mista and Trinity King; five nieces and nephews, Ron Spiva and wife Jami, Brandon Spiva and wife Amy, Sean Spiva and wife Amy, Jennifer Bray and husband Tim, Tristan Robnett and Marie; other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Mehan Union Church. Pastor Larry Eslinger will be officiating. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
