Frank Kimball Berry

Frank Kimball Berry, 70, of Stillwater, OK passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Visitation will be 1 pm to 8 pm Sunday, June12, 2016 in the funeral home chapel. Family will receive guests from 6 pm-8 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Monday June13, 2016 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater with Rev. Bob Fellows officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Frank was born June 15, 1945 in Washington D.C. to Robert Nelson and Monica (Bishop) Berry. He grew up in Stillwater and was a 1963 SHS graduate. After graduation Frank joined the Army and faithfully served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. Upon his honorable discharge from the armed services, Frank returned to Stillwater to attend OSU, where he obtained his B.B.A. in 1971. He was a retired credit manager with 3M.

Some of Frank's accomplishments include serving as director of the play, "Broken Statue" in 2011 at Town & Gown Community Theatre in Stillwater, editor of the Payne County Historical Society, and wrangler of the Class of 1963 SHS's monthly meeting at Hideaway Pizza. An avid chess player/organizer, Frank was the recipient of the U.S. Chess Federation's highest award in 2015. Frank was also a performing member of the Magic Castle of Las Angeles, the worlds most famous magic club. A SHS student recently won 1st place in a talent contest performing his magic skills coached by Frank.

Frank is survived by his long term partner, Lauretha Martin of the home; twin brother, James "Jim" Berry, II and wife Ann of Stillwater, OK; three nephews, James Berry, III and wife Meredith of Stillwater, OK, Jay Berry of Edmond, OK, and Jeff Berry of Stillwater, OK; five great-nephews, James Berry, IV, Andrew Berry, Charles Berry, Blake Berry, and Max Berry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father George M. Berry.
