Fredrick Nolan Pitts, a beloved member of the Stillwater community, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Born on August 21, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gayle and Bobbie (Johnson) Pitts, Fredrick was the epitome of kindness and love. He dedicated his life to spreading hope through his work at Mission of Hope from 2007 to 2019 and most recently at Stillwater Medical Center in the supply department.
Fredrick had a zest for life that extended beyond his career. He found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, tending to his yard, and cruising in his cherished 1965 LTD. A true OU Sonner, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
In 1987, Fredrick graduated from Enid High School and went on to touch the lives of many with his warm personality and genuine care for others. Then, on August 4, 2003 he married Jamie Scantlen in Enid, Oklahoma. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Fredrick Nolan Pitts is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Pitts; his three children, Kiara Collins, Ethan Pitts, and Maddie Pitts all of Stillwater; his siblings, Leslie Pitts of Stillwater, Candace Pitts Oklahoma City, and Cornell Pitts of Stillwater; his nephews, Cameron Pitts and Colby Pitts both of Stillwater; as well as other extended family members and numerous friends who will dearly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents but leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that will be remembered for years to come.
Visitation will be from 9AM to 5PM Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Services to honor and remember Fredrick's life will take place at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stillwater on Friday, June 28th at 1:00 PM followed by interment at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee at 2:30 PM.
In remembrance of Fredrick's positive spirit and unwavering love for his family, may we find comfort in the cherished memories we shared with him. Rest in peace, Fredrick Nolan Pitts.
