Garland Wayne LaFollette went home to meet his Lord and reunite with the love of his life, Mary Lee, on December 9, 2020. He was born September 2, 1924 to Taz and Osel LaFollette. He married Mary Lee Bilyeu on May 26, 1945 in Stillwater and they raised their family in Morrison. He built the LaFollette Addition which helped the town grow, was a founder of the Morrison Christian Church, and an active member of Sunnybrook. Garland proudly served on the Morrison School Board, as well as the Meridian Vo-Tech Board. He was a founder and charter member of the Morrison Lions Club. He started numerous businesses including B&L Heating & Air Conditioning and University Mobile Homes. Though he had many accomplishments, Garland’s biggest legacy was his love for God and family. He was extremely kind and giving, with a handshake for everyone he met. Garland was a beloved husband and soulmate; patient and loving Dad, Grandpa, Papa, and Pappy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Taz and Osel LaFollette; wife, Mary Lee LaFollette; grandsons, Kris LaFollette and Taz LaFollette; daughter in law, Sharla LaFollette; and all of his siblings and their spouses.
He is survived by sons, Gary LaFollette of Stillwater, Mike LaFollette (Franell) of Florida; daughters, Linda Taylor (Jerry) of Florida, Teresa Moser (Kent) of Perry, Charlotte Bowling of Morrison; grandchildren, Kerri LaFollette, Kimberly Davis (Jamie), Gavin LaFollette (Carrie), Bettina Ayala (Julius), Lanette SuAn Bell, Cory Taylor (Jennifer), Leslee Jones, Eric Moser (Krystan), Dahrenda Shaw (Brett); and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, from 1pm-7pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 15 at 2pm at Fairlawn Cemetery and will be streamed in a live video on the Dighton-Marler Facebook page.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dwight Rymer, Ronnie Leigh, Rick McSwain, Steve Shiever, Fred Shultz, Phil Berkenbile, Troy Powell, and Randy LaFollette.
