Gary L Hafner

Gary Lavern Hafner was born in Perry, OK on October 8th, 1955 to Dorothy and Merle Hafner. Gary grew up on the family farm south of Lucien. His days were filled with riding Beauty, his shetland pony, and helping with chores. Gary was active in 4H and FFA. Gary graduated from M-O High School in 1974. Gary's love for animals, competition and excellence at whatever he undertook garnered him the FFA Farmer of the Year Award in 1974. One cannot make a list of Gary's accomplishments. For Gary, life was never about accomplishments. Gary was always happy, positive, smiling and enjoying life. Gary was the definition of a salesman and was successful in life selling electronics, ditch digging equipment. road building equipment, and cattle. He was sincere and able to connect with all people. Gary's greatest and proudest accomplishment was being a kind, generous, loving husband to Amy, and loving daddy to his two girls: Rachel and Olivia. Gary went to heaven on July 26, 2016 in the comfort of his own home. Gary leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Amy, his beautiful daughters, Rachel and Olivia, his sister Denise Bay of Perry, Niece Kari Carter of Tulsa and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of "true" friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks Memorial Donations be made to Lucien United Methodist Church, the Cherokee Strip Riding Club, or the American Cancer Society. Donations may be sent to Palmer Marler Funeral home.
