Gene Lile Devine passed away at his home in Prague, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 12, 2019. He was 79. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler funeral Home of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater.
Gene was born June 10, 1940 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Warren Edward and Opal (Lile) Devine. He grew up in the Glencoe and Stillwater. He graduated from Glencoe High School in 1959. Soon after graduation Gene joined the U.S. Army and served his country for three years. Then, in 1967 he married Donna Sue Wilson. Together they enjoyed 35 years until Donna’s passing in 2002. Gene spent most of his life raising and training race horses, and driving a truck for a living.
Survivors include one sister, Iris Davis of Austin, TX.; two nephews, Johnnie Devine, Jr. (Deana) of Stillwater, OK., and Kelly Devine (Sarah) of Perry, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Johnnie Devine, Sr.; and three sisters, Margie Blair, Irma Glover, and Edith Flaming
