George Ray Hicks

George Ray Hicks, age 77, died peacefully at Norman Regional Hospital on September 17, 2021. Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater has been entrusted with is final care.

He was born on January 17, 1944 in San Jose California to Lawrence Ray and Vesta Nadine Hicks. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he was still young and graduated from Union Schools.

He received his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1963 and immediately entered the Navy as a Radar Technician. He married Suzy Lehr on April 8, 1965. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1966 and started work with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Tulsa.

George and Suzy had two sons and a daughter and moved to Owasso in 1975. He started work with American Airlines as an Electrician Foreman in 1989 and retired from there in 2006 and moved to Stillwater to be nearer his family.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Vesta, an infant sister Barbara Jane, brothers Hillary("Timmy") and Lawrence, his wife of 48 years, Suzy, and his daughter Karie. He is survived by his two sons, Don and David, grandsons Chris, Seth and Samuel and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145.
