Glenda Louise Rosebery

December 21, 1951 — June 3, 2009

Glenda Marie Rosebery, daughter of Nancy Emma and T.W. Brookshire said good morning to her husband as he came in from work and made plans to go into town from their farm on Windmill Rd. in Red Rock, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Instead, she made a more exciting trip to visit her Mom and Dad at home in heaven with Jesus, her Savior, who shared her with us for 58 years. Glenda was born Dec. 21, 1951, the much wanted baby sister of her four older brothers, Tom Brookshire; Phillip and Linda Brookshire of Ponca; Roy & Peggy Brookshire of Stillwater; and Kenneth & Jennifer Brookshire & daughter Kendall of Loveland, Colorado. She married her long time friend and love of her life "Dee" Durward Rosebery Oct. 3, 2000, in Ark City, Kansas, blending her daughter and 2 sons with his daughter and five sons into a busy family of eleven children. We will celebrate and honor her life at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14th, in the Assembly of God, 206 N. 2nd, Tonkawa, OK. with Pastor Vince Boone officiating. Every 4th of July, the inevitable hue and cry of her two nephews and five nieces was and is "Let"s go to Aunt Glenda"s" where, with all her children was always a ready made sure to be fun place. Glenda loved to collect black and white cows for her kitchen and always welcomed us all as she affectionately labeled us her "herd". Aunt Glenda was always the first to start a water fight on a hot day and first to fling herself into the snow and make snow angels. She collected all things Elvis as well as her cows. She loved to shop and if it was cute or clever and she didn"t collect it, she was quick to start or add to a collection of something she new interested you. Her love of crafting assured you would get a homemade treasure for gifts at birthdays and Christmas. She was a voracious reader and would surprise us with a wide variety of tidbits and unexpected questions. She constantly added to her very credible library, which has an outstanding section of classic and children"s literature, started for her grandchildren before they were born. She was a consistent prayer partner and friend to her two sister-in-laws. She had a legacy of faith through her Grandmother Violet Turpens quiet resolve and her Mother, Nancy Emmas absolute trust in Christ. She reminded her anxious prayer partners often that we could pray and trust but not "fix" things our way but needed to let the Lord do it and watch God work. Even in her passing we are amazed as we see daily results her prayer helped set in motion. She leaves us, her survivors, more peace and love and hope than we thought we could have. We have her husband, Uncle Dee Rosebery and the children she loved: Carlo Wayne Bales, Robert and daughter, Andrea, Brian James, Tina Marie Plunket, Gary and children, Gary, Liara and Alexander, Donnie Rosebery, Melinda, their son, Josh Nash and granddaughter, Autumn, Eddie Rosebery, Ada, their son, Cleatis, Chad Rosebery, Sarah and daughter, Rita, Tamara Rosebery, Raven Rosebery & son Christian, Ryan Rosebery, Ashley and daughter Jasmine Marie, her Aunt Betty and Jack Box of Tulsa, nephews Troy and William Brookshire, nieces Tifany and Dewayne Givens, Pallas Jenkins, Tila and Bruce Bailey, Piper and Ron Davis and Brookshire cousin"s close to her heart but too numerous to mention.
