Harold George James, Ii

Harold George James, II of Stillwater, OK, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at his home. He was 62. Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.
He was born February 18, 1954 in Wichita, KS, to Harold George and Mable (Day) James. Harold grew up in the Morrison area where he attended and graduated from Morrison Public Schools. After turning 18 and graduating from high school, he joined the Army in October of that year. He served his country as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne for the next two years. After discharge from the Army, Harold work for Mercury Marine for 31 years as a Journeyman electrician. Upon the closing of Mercury Marine, he went to OSU physical plant where he worked as a HVAC technician until his passing.
Harold and Carolyn L. Barry were married August 27, 1982 in Stillwater at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. They were blessed to have shared 34 years together. Harold enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, gardening, and football. It didnt matter to him who was playing, just as long as it was football. To his family and close friends, Harold was also known as "Hippie".
Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; son, Shawn James and wife, Renee of Stillwater, OK; granddaughter, Teaira Walker of Stillwater, OK; three sisters, Nola Caldwell and husband, Jim of Stillwater, OK, Nita Kennedy of Kingfisher, OK, Freda Kuntz and husband, Gary of Lansing, OK; brother, Roy James and wife, Carla of Stillwater, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Rocky James.
A Celebration of Harolds life is scheduled for 2pm Monday, January 9, 2017 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK.
