Hector Vivar, age 63, of Stillwater, OK, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Stillwater Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10AM at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater with Father O’Brien officiating. A reception at the church will follow the service, and Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Vivar, Billy Hatley, Joshua Hargett, Steven Hargett, Christopher Hargett, Dustin Hargett.
Hector was born November 15, 1954 in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico to Jorge and Beatriz Vivar. At age 11 he moved to Wisconsin where he graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1973. Then in 1982 he returned to Mexico where he met and married Concepcion Romero on July 28, 1983. They settled in Stillwater, OK, in 1984 and started their family.
Hector worked for Mercury Marine until his retirement. After retirement he spent most of his time helping his friends and working on cars and small engine machinery. Hector was very gifted with his hands.
He loved his two children, Ryan and Angela. He was very proud of them both. His granddaughter Allison brought him great joy and was the apple of his eye. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on forever. Hector left these final words to his family, “Mi familia que siempre yo he querido. Nunca los olvidare. Sigan para adelante. Mis hijos, mi familia: Hasta el otro lado.”
Survivors include his wife, two children, granddaughter, mother, and two sisters, Dora Lonero and Lilia Louis; also numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
