Helen was born on February 6, 1960 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Melvin and Freddy (Jones) Shenold. She grew up in rural Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1978. After high school, Helen graduated from the Culinary Arts program at Indian Meridian Technology Center. Helen loved cooking and baking for friends and family. She enjoyed her career as a cook and caterer at Grace Living Center and at Oklahoma State University in both Greek and Residential Life. Helen took great pride in keeping OSU students and athletes well-fed for many years. Countless fraternity boys gained their Freshman 15 thanks to Helens home style cooking!
Helen treasured time spent with her family, especially playing games with nieces and nephews and supporting them at livestock shows and ball games. She had an inborn fondness for animals, and even after leaving the farm, she cherished her relationship with her dogs, Dixie and Luke. She also loved watching game shows, Westerns and other movies with her friends and family. Helen was a devoted daughter to her parents, spending much of her time caring for them before their passing.
