Imogene Childress

Imogene Childress, age 87, passed away on January 2, 2016 in Perkins, OK surrounded by family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2 P.M at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7th from 8am to 8pm.
Imogene was born on March 24, 1928 to the Dallas and Anna Belle (Humphrey) Sadler; she grew up in the Ripley-Perkins area, and attended and graduated from Perkins High School in 1946. Imogene began working after high school at the Mid-West Creamery, she met the love of her life there CT (Red) Spurgin and was married in 1951. Two sons were born to this union, Calvin and John. In 1995 C.T. Red Spurgin passed away and in 1998 Imogene married Jimmy Childress. They enjoyed 7 years of marriage before his passing in 2005. Imogene enjoyed being a mother and loved taking care of children, in her spare time she enjoyed camping, fishing, and bowling, but most of all she enjoyed listening to music.
Imogene is survived by two sons, Calvin Spurgin and John Franklin (Rusty) Spurgin; and a host of friends and family.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ed, Ralph, and William (Sonny); and one sister, Alma.
