Constance Ione Waltman, 97, of Stillwater, passed into the arms of the Lord on September 9, 2012. Services were held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel.
Ione was born to Mary Belle and Oliver Spurgin on May 6, 1915 in Payne County. She grew up in the Stillwater area where she graduated high school. On August 12, 1938, she was married to the love of her life Lyman Willie (Bud) Waltman in Carthage, Missouri, a union of nearly 50 years until Buds passing in 1987. Ione was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. She was also a part of the Burden Bear ministry, where she would make teddy bears for people. Those that accepted the bears would get their name and burden placed in her prayer book. At last count, she had approximately 280 people she prayed for each day.
In addition to her husband, Ione was preceded in death by her parents, brother Calvin Spurgin, Sisters Iris Criser, Clara Ramsey, and Donna Van Natta, and son Jackie Lee Waltman.
Ione is survived by her sister, Lois Wyant, and daughter Florence Sharpe, as well as a whole host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friend who will miss her very much.
True prayer warriors come very seldom in a lifetime, but are greatly missed by all when they go home to meet Jesus. Ione was one of them.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Assembly Next Gen Camp (P.O. Box 13179, Oklahoma City, OK 73113)
