Irene Ogden Clary

Irene Ogden Clary, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at home in Stillwater. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:30pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Irene was born on January 27, 1939 in Jesup, Georgia to Leonard and Pearl (Aspinwall) Ogden. She grew up in Odum, Georgia and graduated from Odum High School in 1956. After high school she married Bobby Leland Clary on December 18, 1957 in Odum, Georgia.

Irene and Bobby soon started a family and raised three children while moving from Georgia, through New York and Florida before finally settling is Stillwater. Irene was a loving mom who was very involved with her children’s lives and activities. She spent many years as a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop.

Once her children were older, Irene went back to school and graduated from Oklahoma State with an accounting degree before earning her CPA certification. Irene used these skills both in the corporate world and later to help manage her husband Bobby’s businesses.

Irene was well known for her amazing cooking abilities and multiple generations of her family grew up blessed to enjoy her family meals and desserts. Irene was also an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed teaching those skills as a Girl Scout leader and loved to sew for her kids and grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Vernon and sister Judy Pierce.

She is survived by her children Debbie Hanni and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, OK., Teresa Ferguson and husband Danny of Stillwater, OK., and Doug Clary and wife Paula of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her brothers W.H. Ogden of Odum, Ga. And Gary Ogden of Patterson, Ga. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kurtis Hanni and wife Samantha, Molly Ligon and husband Daniel, Logan Hanni and wife Morgan, Adam Ferguson and wife Yulia, Aaron Ferguson and wife Ashley and Andrew Ferguson, and her great grandchildren, Liam and Grayson Hanni, Avery, Ailey and Alise Ferguson, Claire, Katie and Sky Ligon, and Karsten Hanni.

Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, c/o Dighton Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington St., Stillwater, Ok., 74075.
