Jack spent most of his younger years traveling with his family. Those were trying times financially for the entire country, so his father would take his family to live where he could find work. As a result, Jack missed out on a lot of the education that he otherwise would have had and was unable to graduate from high school. The family eventually settled in Oklahoma where Jack met his lovely wife Laverne Looney. They were married on February 10th, 1952. They were married for 72 years. To this marriage there were three daughters born Jackie Sheryl, Patricia Kay and Gayla Denise.
Jack spent most of his life in construction, working for various companies and having a construction business of his own. In his later years, Jack loved to play basketball in high school, where he and his twin brother would confuse the opposing team by being on the court at the same time. He loved to fly airplanes and would take off from the job when he got the urge to fly. He also loved to play music on his guitar and sing gospel and country songs. He encouraged his daughters to sing and loved to listen to them singing from the back seat of the car while driving down the road, usually on the way to church. He was responsible for gathering his family together to create the gospel music album by The Heavenly Echoes. Jack was a solid Christian man who was instrumental in starting several churches in which he would sometimes preach. He assisted in starting and building several churches and various locations. He loved the Lord and looked forward to being with his Heavenly Father, where he is now.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, Loretta Watkins, one brother Robert Lane, and one, grandson, Jerry O'Kelley.
He is survived by his wife Laverne, daughter Sherry Ansel, daughter Pat Spencer and husband, daughter Denise Vaught, sister Betty Unfred and husband, twin brother Jerry Lane, brother Frank Lane and wife, as well as 7 grandchildren, 23 Great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Jack was liked, loved and respected by everyone who ever knew him. He was a man who was always ready, willing and able to witness to complete strangers about the love of Jesus Christ. He was a good man on this earth and is now a warrior for Christ in heaven.
