James Anderson Louis Williamson

October 17, 1945 — February 19, 2010

James Jim Anderson Louis Williamson, age 64, of Stillwater, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 19, 2010. He passed away in his home surrounded by family after an extended illness.
Although his time on earth was brief, Jim leaves behind a legacy that will carry on through the generations. He touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and kind heart. He always put the needs of his loved ones before his own; he was unselfish and devoted himself to giving his family a life filled with love and happiness. Jim found a sense of peace in knowing that there was equilibrium in the family, and everyone knew they could come to him for a shoulder to cry on and could leave happy and filled with the wisdom he shared.
Jim was a talented musician; he took great pleasure in playing his guitar, singing, and songwriting. Not only did he create beautiful music, but he left behind a timeless echo of his love in the hearts of all who heard his work. He loved to dance, and enjoyed twirling his wife, daughters and sisters around the dance floor. His hearty laugh and smile were infectious, and he loved being mischievous and keeping the kids wondering if Papa was being serious or not. He was often encouraged to do his Papa Face and brought a smile and laughter to all who witnessed it. At the end of the day, all was right in his world if Jim had the happiness and love of his family and an ice cold Pepsi.
Jim was born on October 17th, 1945 in Edwardsville, IL. to Louis E. Williamson and Mary L.(Pace) Williamson. He was raised in Illinois and graduated from Bethalto High School. He moved to Oklahoma in 1984, where he was reacquainted with his childhood friend who became the love of his life and future wife. Jim married his best friend, Corky McCurry, in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 18th, 1987 and they returned to Stillwater, OK to begin their lives together. Jim was a hard worker and provided for his family by specializing in siding and home improvements. He and Corky remained in Stillwater and worked as a team to raise a large family. They shared many precious times together.
Survivors include his wife, Corky Williamson, of the home; two sons, Jimmy Joe Williamson and his wife Amy of Meadowbrook, IL; Roger Lewis Williamson of Alton, IL; nine daughters, Nelleta Darlene Harris of Nevada; Janice Sue Hoene and her husband Charles of Alton, IL; Michelle Renae Keck and her husband Thomas of Edwardsville, IL; Delleta Marlene Farnes of Stillwater, OK; Velleta Carlene Robinson and her husband Dale of Stillwater, OK; Starleta Charlene Elliott and her husband Dylan of Pawnee, OK; Jessica Nikkole Norvelle and her husband Patrick of Stillwater, OK; Rosie Nicole Harris of Stillwater, OK; Courtney Cierra Harris of Stillwater, OK; twenty-one grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
