James Arneson

James (Jim) Sinclair Arneson of Stillwater . Born December 13, 1923 passed away on July 25, 2011. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday July 28, 2011 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel (5106 N. Washington).
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Beverly Jean Arneson and a grandson Willie Welch.
Jim came to Stillwater in 1959 to open a retail clothing store and then worked for Prudential Insurance Company until his retirement. He was an avid golfer playing 5 days a week. He also enjoyed a good game of gin or dominoes with his friends. He was passionate about life and was always positive. If you asked him how he was, he'd always say "tremendous" which was what his car tag said.
He is survived by daughter Susie Welch and husband Pat of Stillwater, son Jay Arneson and wife Cathy, of Yukon, and daughter Sandy Wolfe and husband Dan of Dallas. Grandchildren Lynsey Kushera and husband Justin, Paige Watkins and husband Chad, Jason Arneson, Darin Wolfe and wife Stephanie, Jeff Wolfe and wife Emily. He also had 9 great-grandchildren.
A special Thank you to his caregivers: Taymoor, Courtney, Misty, John, and, Ian. They took great care of Jim for two years after he suffered a paralyzing stroke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jims name to the Willie Welch Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Stillwater High School Athletics Department.
