James C. (Jim) Westmoreland, 70, died Saturday July 15th 2006 at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was born on October 11th, 1935 Northeast of Stillwater to Ernest and Beulah Westmoreland. No services are planned.
He married Connie Westmoreland in Las Vegas, NV on May 24th, 1974 and the couple had just celebrated 32 years of marriage. Jim graduated at Eureka High School in 1954. He grew up in the Yost Lake area and was a life guard in his younger years at Yost Lake.
Jim moved to California in 1955 and married Dorothy Jean Hogan. He worked at General Pipe and Supply until 1989 and then retired and moved back to Stillwater. He never met a person that he did not like or that did not like him. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed going to casinos and drinking cold beer and loved his dog Romeo. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell good jokes. He always had goodies-candy on hand and gave them out. He had many friends and loved ones that will miss him dearly. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma, one brother, Darrel Westmoreland. He is survived by his brother, Gary Westmoreland and wife Jan of Stillwater, OK; nine children, Susan and Michael Swearingin of Arlington, TX, Pamela and William Hartley of Buena Park, CA, Kelly and Charles Watson of Corona, CA, Jamie and Ron Uhlir of Bellflower, CA, BJ and Michael Belli of Stillwater, Jeff and Carly Westmoreland of Utah, Ronda and Mark East of Long Beach, CA, Bran and Lisa Powers of Tulsa, Bill Belt Jr. of Arizona; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
