James Wayne Houser

April 11, 1956 — February 25, 2025

Perkins, Oklahoma

James Wayne Houser born on April 11, 1956, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City. He was 68.

James was born in Charleston, South Carolina to Delmer and Catherine (Malone) Houser. He was the third of five children and as Delmer was military, they moved around every few years. James found a love for motorcycles and adventure at a very young age. He was a storyteller of all things; good, bad, and ugly. I’m sure there are stories that should remain with him, but feel free to share if you must.

James was a father of three children, Jaime, Jake, and Justin; and grandfather to Harley and Jhett. The love he had for his family was undeniable and unconditional. He was a gently man with a heart as big as the sun. By no means does gentle man mean soft because if you knew this man you know there was no holding back. If he thought it, you were bound to hear it. He could be a bit scary to the outside world, but those who knew his heart knew he was a good man.

James worked with Kerns Construction for 22 years and retired in 2020. He dreamed of cross-country motorcycle ride with his people but was unable to overcome this illness that has plagued him for many years.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Del and Catherine; his son, Jake; and his brother, Chop.

Survivors include his daughter, Jaime and her boyfriend Dan, and their four children, Harley, Olivia, Alaina, and Kadon; his son, Justin and his son Jhett; one sister, Elizabeth and husband John, and their children, Jessica Burkhead and Jeremy Cochrane; brother, Philip and his children, John and Joe Houser; brother, William and wife Whitney and their son, Coty Goetzinger; and two nephews, Jesse and Clint Houser.

James is no longer in pain and riding high in the clouds with loved ones, friends, and family lost long ago.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to liver disease, or mental health research associations/programs.
