James "Jim" Arnold Etheridge, Jr.

May 19, 1946 — February 28, 2018

James “Jim” Etheridge Jr., age 71, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.

Jim was born May 19, 1946 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to James and Viola (Jones) Etheridge. He grew up in the Stillwater area and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1966. After graduation, Jim joined the United States Air Force. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially feeding his wild birds. He loved his family and friends (who were considered family by him) dearly. Jim worked for Oklahoma State University Higher Education as a Flooring Technician for many years, which he enjoyed greatly. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by one son, James Etheridge III, of Stillwater, OK; one daughter, Sarah Freeman of Stillwater, OK; one sister, Jean Lambert and husband Jerry; grandchildren; aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willie Etheridge; and one grandson, Kohle Freeman.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00pm at Glenwood Eden Chapel Cemetery (North of Perkins, OK). The service will be officiated by special friend of Jim's, Mr. Tom Ellis.
