Vester Gregory, 78, of Tonkawa, passed from this life on Saturday, February 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, OK. James Sylvester Gregory was born May 13, 1932 to James Floyd and Bertha Dawson Gregory. He lived in Gypsy until the age of 15. They moved to Blackwell in 1947. He married Geneva McConnell in 1950. They later divorced. He married Jolene (Rice) Burns on May 23rd, 1980. They lived in Tonkawa, OK for the last 31 years. He enjoyed horseback riding in his earlier years, as well as fishing with his younger brother and friends Ernie and Everett Ray Killman. He drove a cattle truck and was known as Eaglebeak to all his CB buddies. He also worked for Max Well Service. He is survived by two sons: Jim Gregory of Ponca City, OK and Randy Pedigo of Tonkawa, OK. One daughter, Ann Armstrong, of Blackwell, OK, Two sisters: Rosie Ailey and Ruby Hatch. One brother: Bill Junior Gregory. Seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, as well as Brandy Avey, his very special niece whom he raised since birth. A Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 26th at the First Assembly of God Church in Blackwell, Ok with Rev. Bill McKissick officiating.
