James W. Decker, Jr.

June 9, 1958 — April 15, 2012

James Jim W. Decker, Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins and will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Iowa Chapel Cemetery (SE corner of 0770 Rd. and 3300 Rd.) with Reverend Mike Dunn presiding.
Jim was born on June 9, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to James Sr. and Irene Decker. He grew up in various parts of rural Oklahoma, graduating from Maud High School. He spent 24 happy years with his Wife Joy (Lawyer) Decker whom he married in Eureka Springs. Jim was a man of many trades, he worked mostly as a heavy equipment operator, but took care of cows, horses, and crops at home. In addition to ranching and farming, he was well known for his gardening and landscaping skill, maintaining a well manicured lawn at all times. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
Jim is survived by his wife Joy Decker of the home; three daughters Katie Decker of the Home, Jamie Dolen of Perkins, and Terisa Keilbarth of Shawnee; mother, Irene Decker of Checotah, a nephew that he raised Chris Campbell-Decker, and sister Nora Alderidge of Eufala as well as 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Jim was also proud to have been a friend of Bill W.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James W. Decker, Sr.
